TIMESJATIM, MALANG – UIN Maulana Malik Ibrahim Malang (UIN Malang) inaugurated a new Professor in Sharia Economy, Dr. Ahmad Muhtadi Ridwan, S.Ag., M.Ag.
Professor Muhtadi was promoted by the Ministry of Indonesian Education and Culture in the Minister of Indonesian Education and Culture’s Decree no. 36626/MPK/KP/2020 on Academic Promotion.
Counted since 1 March 2020, Professor Muhtadi was promoted as a Professor in Sharia Economy with the credit score of 902.85.
The Rector of UIN Malang, Prof. Dr. H. Abdul Haris, M.Ag, explained that this inauguration of professors was proposed to the Indonesian Ministry of Religious Affairs (Kemenag). Afterwards, Indonesian Ministry of Religious Affairs proposed to the Ministry of Indonesian Education and Culture as the institution that made the final decision.
“Professor Muhtadi’s skill is needed in Indonesian. In fact, Sharia Economy is a highly anticipated economic system in Indonesia,” he said to TIMES Indonesia on Thursday (2/4/2020).
His team has done an audience along with the Indonesian Vice President, KH Ma’ruf Amin, who requested UIN Malang to help implement Sharia Economy in Indonesia, Haris continued.
Therefore, UIN Malang will always increase the professor acceleration program to support the academic needs.
“InsyaAllah, he will be inaugurated soon. I think the inauguration will be conducted outdoor by using the health authority protocol, considering that we are still in the midts of Coronavirus pandemic,” said the Rector of UIN Malang. (*)
